Asian majors change tack

Following the Asian low cost airline grouping of last month it could be that Thai and other such as MAS also form a coop of sorts. All major flag carriers in the South East Asia seem to be coming to the conclusion that boosting their fleets with narrowbody aircraft and plying underserved routes is the best way to increase traffic at their respective hubs. This thinking is by no means new, but it signals a strategy for dealing with the low cost growth to one side and the point to point Middle East airline growth on the other. As such a Thai narrowbody aircraft order may be in the pipeline with others to follow from Asian flag carriers very soon.
