American Airlines has announced it administered recall notices to 147 senior flight attendants. In March the airline plans to issue a second set of notices to a further 221 staff. The recalls are to help the airline meet the expected increase in summer traffic. Some 2,500 flight attendants lost their jobs when TWA and American Airlines merged in 2001. American brought 545 flight attendants back last October.
