Allegiant Travel Company, parent of LCC Allegiant Air, has agreed to purchase 13 A319s to facilitate fleet growth, including 12 that are currently leased to a European carrier until 2018. In a statement, the company said the “purchase transaction for the 12 A319s leased to the European airline is expected to be completed by the end of June. As each aircraft lease expires, Allegiant will transition the aircraft into its operating fleet.” Allegiant also plans to purchase one more A319, as well as one A320.
