AIRLINES REQUESTS UPGRADE FOR KENYA’S KISUMU AIRPORT

Airlines flying into Kenya’s Kisumu airport have requested upgrades to Kisumu airport be speeded up. The main areas for attention are the refueling station. Airlines have reported that they are forced to carry fuel from Nairobi, which reduces space for passengers and cargo.

Work on upgrading Kisumu airport to international standards were commissioned in June 2009 but as yet the airport is unable to offer crucial services such as baggage handling and immigration issues.
