Airline expands SMC relationship

Airline Hydraulics Corporation (Airline) has announced that SMC Corporation of America has expanded its Technology Distributor authorization with Airline to include all of New England.

Airline’s relationship with SMC dates back to the mid-1980’s when Airline became a SMC stocking distributor in portions of the Mid-Atlantic States. In New England, Airline will provide sales support and SMC inventory at their facility in North Billerica, MA and at Fluid Power Automation (FPA), a SMC Technology Distributor located in North Kingston, RI which was acquired by Airline in January 2011. In addition, Airline has a number of sales offices throughout the region to provide immediate local technical support.

“We are extremely excited about this expansion of our distribution territory for SMC products,” commented Joseph A. Miceli, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Hydraulics. “Airline’s two strategically positioned sales and inventory locations in New England, coupled with our unique ability to provide customized solutions in the form of integrated components or engineered systems, will create a win-win scenario for SMC and for our customers in this demanding marketplace.”

SMC is the world’s largest manufacturer of pneumatic automation products, offering the broadest selection of air cylinders, electric actuators, valves, fittings, regulators, air dryers and vacuum solutions. Over the past 45 years, SMC’s products have become established as a leading international brand, currently holding a 30% share of the world market. In 2011 they were recognized by Forbes, Inc. as the 49th most innovative company in the world.
