Airberlin will start a weekly Saturday scheduled service from Dusseldorf to Guernsey from 21 May to 10 September 2011. The airline will use a Q400 aircraft on the new route. Carla McNulty Bauer, Minister, Commerce and Employment says: “The Department has been in proactive discussions with the airline for some time and I am delighted that the route has now been confirmed. The partnership between Guernsey and airberlin is not only welcome news for the Islands’ visitor economy but will also give the Guernsey travelling public the choice of weekly direct access to a major city within continental Europe.
