Air Malta chief criticised by MP

Nationalist Maltese MP Robert Arrigo, although he did not specifically name him, has criticised the working policy of Peter Davies, chief executive officer of Air Malta, for working a four-day week on a salary of €350,000 and an additional €150,000 performance bonus and for spending the remaining three days of the week abroad.
Arrigo claims that the credit for the resurgence of the airline lies solely with the initiatives undertaken by the Malta Tourism Authority: “With its arrogance and wrong work practices, Air Malta would have never survived without MTA,” he said.
Air Malta has expressed its regret that the MP believes the leadership of Air Malta to be poor adding that Arrigo seems to have chosen “to ignore the turnaround achievements registered by the airline in its operational results”.
