Air India has been forced to ground four aircraft planes due to an inability to pay spares suppliers. The airline is also indebted to three airports, Kozhikode, Ahmedabad and Guwahati, which could impact operations if its outstanding fuel bills are not paid. Airport operators and caterers have also threatened to stop services to the airline. And if the airline isn’t able to pay salaries, it will be in even more dire straights for next year. The cabinet is meeting today to decide on a Rs.1,200 crore equity infusion to keep Air India flying.
