In preparation for a possible national strike throughout the month of May by union SNLP France Alpa, which represents Air France pilots, the airline is planning to cancel a number of flights.  The airline has warned that the strike and subsequent cancellations could threaten its recovery. The union is planning strikes for two hours in the morning and three hours in the afternoon. The dispute is over a new law that would require pilots to inform their companies that they intend to go on strike for 48 hours before the walk-out.
