An Air Algérie aircraft has been grounded by Belgian authorities due to a dispute between the airline and aviation firm K’AIR dating back to July 2008.  The dispute concerns a contract for the sale of ten out-of-service Air Algérie jets to K’AIR, which was cancelled by the airline allegedly as K’AIR was unable to finance the deal as agreed. K’AIR denied this and was ruled in favour by the International Court of Arbitration, which is currently under appeal. The dispute has now involved Algeria’s ambassadors to Holland and Belgium to help resolve the affair.
