Aerolineas Argentinas, the Argentine national air carrier, has agreed to join the SkyTeam network in 2012. The airline will be the first South American airline to join the alliance. Aerolineas Argentinas flies to 18 international destinations and operates flights to 34 destinations in Argentina. It is in the process of renewing its fleet with an additional 12 Boeing 737-700s in 2009 and 20 Embraer 190s.
