Aerolineas Argentinas has been fined $18,000 for allowing two Chinese and a Tongan passenger to board flights from Sydney to Auckland last year without getting clearance from Immigration New Zealand. The airline pleaded guilty to three charges under the Immigration Act 2009 at the Manukau District Court. They were fined $6000 on each charge. The airline had failed to supply Immigration New Zealand with passenger details, had allowed a passenger to board the flight without a visa and ignored an instruction from immigration not to board a passenger.
