Aeroflot has confirmed it has ordered 16 Boeing 777s – eight 777-200ERs and eight 777-300ERs – to be delivered over a six-year period between 2012 and 2017. The deal is worth $4.13 billion at list prices. The long-haul aircraft are being considered as a stop gap order due to the repeated delays in delivery of Aeroflot’s order for 22 787 Dreamliners. The airline is negotiating with Boeing to ensure it has at least two 787s delivered in time for the Winter Olympics being held in Sochi 2014. Aeroflot is also still waiting for delivery of the first of its order
