AER LINGUS PREDICTS PROFIT IN 2010

Aer Lingus has forecast an operating profit of €29 million for 2010 after posting strong passenger figures for September. The Irish airline, which made an operating loss of €81 million in 2009, reported September passenger traffic up by 7.6% over a year ago and expects strong numbers for October and November.

However CEO Christoph Mueller warned that industrial action by cabin crew, members of the IMPACT union, who worked to rule on Wednesday this week over a dispute over rostering, could still impact figures.
