ACSA defends 1time payment policy

The Airports Company South Africa (Acsa) has stated that it had no alternative but to change the 45-day payment policy it had with 1time to demand payment either in advance or the day after services were rendered, according to William Tlou, financial director of Acsa.
Tlou was forced to issue the statement after 1time’s former business rescue practitioner, Gerhard Holtzhausen, blamed Acsa, 1time’s largest creditor, for the airline’s collapse. 1time owed Acsa about R147m.
Acsa stated that it did “everything possible” to assist 1time through its financial difficulties, Tlou said: “It is not in our interest to cause airlines to fail.”
