AA TRAFFIC UP FOR NOVEMBER

American Airlines said Friday its traffic rose 4.3% in November from  last year a year earlier, led by a surge in flights to the APAC region. System-wide capacity, or the number of available seats, rose 3.2% last month. The airline flew paying passengers 9.9 billion miles last month, compared with 9.49 billion miles in November 2009. Traffic for the APAC region rose 21.4%. Latin American traffic rose 8.3%. Traffic across towards Europe, the most developed market, rose at 1.1%.

So far this year, traffic is up 2.6%. American’s number of available seats has risen less than 1%, while its occupancy rate rose 1.3 percentage points to 82%.
